Where are my keywords in serps?

Hi all,

I own a new website since about two months. It's a slow process so at the moment only writing some articles and plan for backlink in the next two months.

i keep track of my keywords with serpbook, and since a week every one of them (througout the week) dissappeared from the top 200. I can't find a manual penalty, the links are still indexed in google. Is it just the waiting game?
maybe 3 links build to the homepage so that's certainly not the problem.

You need to have some good links going to the homepage and then some good links going to the subpages. We're not talking blast. We're talking PBN links.
 
Thanks for the reply. I already knew that but what is wondering me; and correct me if i am wrong, keywords don't have to drop all that suddenly when i don't build links? They just don't rank (that good).
 
So when time lasts, let's say one to two weeks, they wil automatically come back?
 
Thats totally normal Keywords dance around in the SERP and I have found for new sites they dance around much more once they are in any spot more then 100. I would recommend you slowly start building links targeting the homepage of the site.

Another thing you might run into is that the keywords may completely vanish a couple of weeks after you built links to em or they may drop and stay low for a couple of days thats normal because they are going to bounce back up.
 
Did you used expired domain? Maybe that domain has some bad links tho.
This shouldn't happen if you didn't built links, so check in ahrefs maybe someone else built links to your domain.

New websites with unique content gets "little bump for free" from Google to get chance to attract some traffic. This is for good projects to really kickstart. But if nothing significant happens, you will then recieve SERP position by algorithm, and you need tostart serious linkbuilding to get up.

That's reason why your web appeared and then disappeared from reasonable positions.
 
its definitely a google dance. Just try to enter site:yoursite.com and if you site come up then you are not penalized and your site is somewhere in serp

I would wait a little while before worrying. If you know you haven't done anything that could trigger a penalty, then you should be alright.
 
Depending on the competition it may vary, but the most I've had with the Google dance was approx. 2-3 months . Everything should eventually settle in, but keep sending some good links to it while it does.
 
You have a new website! In this case, Google has this technique to sandbox your website for some time. The website will disappear and reappear between searches or days.Your website is new, just don't worry. Google is playing with your website. Just post regularly and grow your profile so the Google bots visit your site regularly and you get indexed consistently.
 
It's normal. I'd suggest you to also do guest posting on other relevant blogs as well. This way you'll get genuine backlinks from author bio and possibly from content as well.
 
Dancing is normal. Keep an eye on it, they should be popping back in and out over the next couple of weeks. Continue building a natural-looking link profile with some social in there as well, if possible. It's not necessary, but helps.
