Whenever I change the domain, the traffic increases once. But later my domain becomes penalized. What could be the reason? It happens after 1 month. 80% of the traffic goes down. Should the page speed be good? My page speed is low . Someone please tell me if there is any way to avoid getting penalized for redirecting the domain.

Do you change the url? If not try that too. Technical seo is a factor for penalizing. So improve speed, security etc.

please see screensot What could be the reason?

I don't change the URL, I just change the domain extension. I have changed the two time domain but Google down the traffic after 1 month

78K urls, is it autoblogging, thats another problem, its falls under spam content if you publish that many in short time. The once dont give you any traffic you can live then as draft and not publish them next time you switch the domain.

But I have another website, there is not much content on it, its ranking also went down after the core update, but later I changed the domain, its traffic was also recovered, but it also went down after 1 month

You may want to tackle that first, this time change urls too, make it fast loading and keep posting new content slowly.
Do not do 301 redirects from old domains.

If the page speed is slow then does the domain get penalized like this also?

Yes, why don't you try speeding it up?

Bro Now I am doing this, I thought that maybe it would not be penalized due to page speed

this could be reason, try to go slow, think from google perspective, you have 78k urls on a site, and no social presence, social signals, external links, internal links, proper backlink profile, that's not normal.

Don't redirect the domain. I'm guessing you are doing 301 redirects - these carry penalties over from one website to another.

Also your auto blogging leaves a lot to be desired, I'm not going into that.

Is the content the same or is 301 redirect in place?

If so, the initial rank increase comes from new domain name that is fresh and new candidate for ranking.

But then it gets compared and search engine realizes that it's the same "villain".

Frequently changing domain names will definitely be bad for SEO. The weight accumulated by the previous domain will be lost.

You posted this before.

I think your website is spam site with tons of AI contents or low quality spun ones, after fresh boost from a new domain, Google soon catched up that you are just transferring your old content to new domain, then the penalty follows you.

It could be from the curiosity factor or temporary novelty. Check for any spammy backlinks or unnatural link patterns and content quality for sure :)

To my dismay, page speed appears to be barely a factor. I attribute this to the fact, that just about everyone has a bad score.

So Google has no choice other than to go easy on the whole speed issue, contrary to what they keep claiming.

As someone specialising in speed optimisation I wish the effect was noticeable, or better yet, significant

I'd say the effect is in the low single digit range, like 1-3% "bonus" maybe, for a very fast 95+ score site compared to one that has a "red" rating in Pagespeed Insights

Other factors will easily overpower speed in my opinion, unfortunately

Spot on, a lot of extremely high DA sites use shit load of ads, and their page speed is worse, yet they will rank on top, Google knows people need to run ads, the more ads you put on site, the slower it is. so they don't make it important factor
