I thought the same way as you do. But really, when you will reach your goal, you won't stop. Trust me, been there done that.

Some people just crave power.
Some don't care much for it and are fine with contentment.
But I'm telling you, once you get a taste of some real power. You will never want to go back to being content, ever again. It's impossible to explain in words, you have to experience it for yourself. It's the same reason Hitler wanted to rule the world, why Julius Caesar became the man he was. Why Dr. Dre just became a multi-billionaire.
It's a feeling like none other, and when you taste it. It's like a drug, like a high.
Sure, I want to see everything this world has to offer as well. I want to love and be loved, I want to make love to a beautiful woman every day and be happy with her. I want to see the world and all its treasures. But I also want to be rich, eventually.
"See the world, but don't drop the oil in the spoon."
It's the reason why a lot of rich people are miserable. It's because you have to live your life in balance. Some people are terribly unhealthy and they walk around wondering why they feel so bad every day. Take a Xanax, have a drink. All temporary solutions.

It is the thing deeply ingrained inside the human beings. They simple can't stop. You reach 1 million, you say i need 2 mil. Then 3 mil and it goes on till you die. Death put an ends to man's greed.

The valves, though, have the tendency to close over time, and if you're not very careful, even the memory of the secret place will get wiped out, and the flow will slow down and stop. The closing action can be a result of another overt or covert action or actions created by yourself or by someone else.
There are plenty of live examples all around us who have found and then kept open the valves. There is unlimited supply of riches available to those who exactly know how to keep open those valves. So, think... You only need to find the valve of the pipeline and open it, and then be very careful... Hi,
I have been reasonably successful on KDP and I noticed something quite interesting if you aim low - ie $100 per day.
You have to do all the work, so it is a job.
If you aim higher you have the funds to pay other people to do the work and once set up properly actually get more free time.
