When To Put Ads on a new website

Hello,

My newer blog has been getting traffic finally, at ~300 visitors per month right now. And I had ads off to start because it makes no sense to show ads to 5 visitors. But I turned them on and now I'm making .02 a day o_O

which is basically nothing.

Just wanted to know when you should turn on ads on a website?, or if it doesn't even matter anyway.

I'm using Google AdSense auto-ads, with auto-optimization.

I've always put ads from the beginning or upon approval. Even if it only earns $0.01 a day, it still means my website is earning which motivates me to work harder and grow it.
 
which country do you get the most traffic?

I put ads when my site starts to reach 100/day
 
I put Adsense from the start on one of my sites that I wanted to monetize. At the beginning, you see one or two cents per day but if you work well, it can quickly go up so if Adsense has validated you, don't touch anything and work on your ranking.
 
It is alright. This way, by doing it a bit early, you set the expectations with your visitors about the type of experience they are going to have.
If you suddenly bring ads on, the users will cry foul.
 
it should go up once adsense determines your traffic, keywords, or style of toilet paper you use, (we can't know!) my new sites have started off similar, but I have aged sites that get much more than that, so its defiantly an age thing. Might be more, hard to say. Just see how you go in 6 months, once you've been sharing on socials and adding new content, and doing SEO. Let us know is if changes.
 
Ok guys, I'll just leave it on.

Ad revenue today was .03 cents. Up 150% from the .02 yesterday :cool:
 
I like to do it as soon as possible in order to get the visitors used to the look of the website straight from the start. More often than not, people hate changes to something they are costumed to. You can wait until later but then you might piss off the returning visitors who never saw ads.
 
Since you're Adsense approved, use Ezoic. It will pay better after one month.

Yeah I just checked they have some different plan for <10,000 monthly visitors.

But don't they slow down the site insanely?

Not really worth it when it would just let me make 10cents instead of 3 cents.

If you have some traffic on your website then you can apply of adsence on your website. Here are few steps for adsence

I usually wait for 1000 PV a month before enabling ads. This figure is not backed by any data or research. It’s just something I picked.
 
You could start using ads from the beginning, as you wouldn't lose anything and you could still get some clicks. Now, the best would be maybe to analyze some heatmaps and see where your users click the most so that you can place ads on some visible spots. Usually, they are placed in the left and right navigations, footer, in the middle of some blog text, and so on, but you should check which sections are the most popular on your site.
 
That depends on your goal. If you want more visitors to your website, just turn on Google ads. If not, save more money at first, and take more efforts on On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO.
