I don't know if this belongs in this section, please remove if it don't.

I was looking at some keywords on g o o gle ad words, and I found the following:

Keyword: ***********
Competition: Low
Global Monthly Searches: 6,120,000
Local Monthly Searches: 1,830,000

Should I invest in that key word? (is there something else I should look for?

Those numbers seem very high, but I don't know (I'm what you call a Newb)

1) You want the Competition to be High. Low Competition means it is not profitable.

2) You need to tick a box on the side that says "Exact" to see the actual search volume.

Make sure it's on [Exact] search on the left side of the screen.
Exact search will provide stats for that keyword exactly as it appears.

This competition is the advertisers competition, so higher is better, low means that adsense will show only few relevant ads.

You must check competitors from google results, search that keyword and check pr, backlinks, headlines, seo optimization of first 10 results.

Anyway for that number of searches is almost impossible to rank for. Try for micro niches first, arround 5000-1000 exact searches per month.

Recommendation: Read more stuff here on BHW and use the search, you will learn a lot from here almost 99% of all what you need.

As people have said the competition on the keyword tool is the adwords competition so if its low then theres not many people bidding on that keyword so you wont make much or get targetted ads.

So i wouldnt advise it.
