When to add Adsense?

Would it be better to add adsense later on when your site is ranked rather than right on launch?

I have a site that I tried this on. I have 0 backlinks in a keyword that returns 14 million results, 110,000 monthly searches and it has ranked on 2nd page. I have 5 pretty ordinary articles and have not touched the site in 2 months. maybe google sees it as not a shitty spam site looking for quick cash as it is not monetized at all.

I plan to get a few backlinks casually, make more articles and add adsense once the rank gets a little better (as there is no point now anyway)

When it is getting at least 20 people a day then you should put adsense. This is really the logical way to do it.
For me though, I just put them asap. If people with autoblogs just spam adsense all over their sites, I don't see why I have to wait.

Do it at the beginning.

I'm running auto blog farm, whenever my blog hits 100UV/day, I start to put adsense code to it. I found myself that below that threshold it the traffic hard to speed up.This's just my person exp.

I get around 100 people / day from YouTube so there is a little bit of money to be made but I might as well improve the site, get it ranked higher then put the ads in.

Good question. I have dived into the MNS area creating some sites, backlinking them and now wanting for them to rank. I have seen an improvement in SERPS but only one is currently on the first page at number 3. Didn't put Adsense on them as I don't get much traffic anyway.

I usually like to add them a little later on after I get my pages indexed. It has been working well for me.

Anyway I neglected the site and let it go a little. The keyword is a little tricky with some good competition. the site basically dropped to 22 on Google and 4th on Bing and Yahoo recently it has vanished from Google. My content is pretty week and there are no backlinks.

I think with my next site I will add them later on maybe a couple of weeks or months after I get it ranked on first page and get a legit presence. (hopefully)
