When should you start using PBNs?

It's okay to from the start. Add links to your home page first, then go to more specific pages. Obviously don't add a ton of links at once, unless you can justify it for some reason. Use common sense and you will be fine. Adding 4 - 5 links to home page a week is nothing to worry about. Use branded/naked/general anchors (niche related but not direct keywords)

If the pbn not recognized as pbn by Google, it's like "some links" so sure.

I've used PBNs on my sites at different points, from my experience below s my suggestion that would ensure you get the best out of your PBN:
Don't use them right from the start, not because it won't be effective but because your site has not been tested on the SERP to know where it 'naturally' fits. You could send other types of links such as guest post etc to your site and optimize your content to the very best possible. Watch it till the rankings all settle.
Depending on the difficulty of your niche, if you've been able to get your keywords to page 1 and/or page 2(preferably page 1), then fire those homepage PBN links.
The performance would be incredible, long as they're quality PBNs. Depending on how much of those links you buy, send some to your homepage and the rest to the specific pages you intend to rank. It could be split 50/50.

You mean with PBNs first direct them at the homepage and then individual posts? Can I ask why can’t I use the same exact keyword?
Anything out of the ordinary I should take into consideration?
My websites are over a year, although I just started pumping content recently.
One of my niches is very competitive but I'm an expert in the field hence why I chose it. Do you build your own PBNs or buy them?
