Loading times shouldn't exceed 2s. Usually less than that is acceptable

For shared hosting that's totally ok. Still, you can try to reduce it a little bit, watch this video:

speed is most important one for any site especially for google.. so first try to solve the issue..otherwise you will lose ranking as well.

I think 1.5s is in the good-mid-region respectively and not the bad region, which exceeds 1.5s.
1.5s is still speedy, but you will be at the yellow region for the speed gauge. But I think this may be flawed as well, as there are so many factors that would contribute the loading speed of your website.
One thing for sure, activating page compression + having cache can definitely help reduce the load time further.

1.5s for the initial server response is very very slow
Get rid of plugins and whatever might be slowing your wordpress down so much.
