When Position Filled on Hire a Freelancer Please Close the Thread

The busier the BHW Hire a Freelancer channel becomes I am noticing more and more threads open for a long time with no new posts to indicate whether the Hire a Freelancer offer is still open

I appreciate that many threads are very busy which it makes it difficult to PM back to every job seeker.

But once the freelancer has been found please close out the thread

All that is required

Position Filled ? Thread Closed
Thanks to all who applied :)

That?s all it takes but for 5 extra seconds it keeps Hire a Freelancer neat and tidy thanks?

Absolutely, it helps them to get out of PM's too. If you didnt close then you might get more questions about your job even after getting right person. So please make sure above post.

I had said something similar months back but over a period of time I have realized that even commenting "thread is closed" doesn't work in a majority of cases. I tried to write "Thread is Closed" in large fonts, still some idiots keep commenting just to increase their post count. It has been seen that newbies during their initial days dig graves and during their quest to find relevant threads, they end up giving life to 2-3 year old threads. In such a case, nothing much can be done, unless a new method is devised for automatic closure of threads, as it happens on DP. The buyer can choose 10 days life for the thread, and once 10 days are over, thread would close automatically. But it has it's share of disadvantages, which possibly is the reason, it hasn't been implemented on BHW. New members have to be a bit more rational and check when has been the thread actually started. This will clear the things. In some cases, even senior members are behind opening of old threads. :D

Ya I am glad someone finally said something...I normally always post when my threads are closed but I keep seeing people bringing back threads from like early - mid july...

Do we have an option to straightaway message a mod when we want to close the thread, and after being notified he/she can close the thread? I know that mods have tons of work to do, still this can be a workable idea. Just my 2 cents.
