I limit it to 5 top tho.
I also analyze only sites close to mine because looking at giant like Amazon won't tell you much.

Do you recommend link velocity or just need to blast all links to targeted keyword/page get rank?

I've never really followed any longterm velocity plan, but if I buy let's say 50x PBNs, I will ask the seller to drip feed it for 50 days or so. Same with any links.
I also target my homepages quite a lot to have majority of links pointing to it, even if an inner page is what I actually want to rank.
EDIT: Also, anchor diversity.

Not only the link profile and not exactly the same either.
You look for the signals that are driving each of the top sites. One site may have bad link profile but something else stronger, like lots of social media mentions. Others may have a strong link profile.
You're gonna be looking for lots of signals on each, their on-site SEO, etc.
Write it all down and make a plan for your own site.
Keywords, keyword densities, schema markups, H1 and H2 tag use, image use and so on. Then link profiles, you'll want to analyze the top 5 to 10 link profiles. Buy ahrefs reports if you must from the marketplace here. Get an ahrefs report for each top 10 competitor, analyze all their keywords on excel.
Target the easier keywords first, go for long tails. As you begin to rank for long tails, go for shorter ones and keep improving site.
That's how you bootstrap you a SEO project on a low budget. Hope this helps.

op buy the ahrefs tool it’s the best way to do keyword research, and read many ahrefs guides posted here and use the method you like as that’s what I do

Good one my friend. Very simple and useful tips to rank the page for our target keyword. But does relly ranking for longtail keywords would help to rank the page for our desired short-tail keyword?
