Hello,

I'm about to buy and expired domain from expireddomains. com when this question occurred to me.

At the moment the domain has a PR and the age is aobut 5 years. When I will buy it again in Godaddy, will all the SEO stats(Age and PR) will reset?

Just to back up what Zwielicht is saying and put another perspective on this. If you think about it, it is entirely possible that an owner of a website could accidentally let the registration of their domain name lapse (it's happened to me before). They might have changed their email address, or their credit card details, or just missed an email from the domain registrar warning them that their domain name is about to expire.

If google were to "reset" the history of that domain, along with all the trust and authority that that website previously held, just because a domain was dropped, they may be taking away a great resource from their own search results. And obviously they wouldn't want this, because people might start looking elsewhere to find what they want on the internet (Bing, Yahoo etc).

Just to be clear, "SEO" off page will not be reset. "SEO" on page would be reset if you change the content.

The expired domain(s) remained valuable unless penalized. The On-page may change as the settings are determined by you. A good expired domain may help to push your site's ranking faster than a new domain due to various factors - previously ranked, da/pa, bl, ct etc.
