Has anyone here successfully reserved their WhatsApp username yet?
It got me thinking…If WhatsApp usernames become widely adopted, do you think Meta will eventually allow username transfers or even an official marketplace? We all saw what happened with Telegram usernames some ended up selling for thousands of dollars ,Or do you think WhatsApp will keep usernames permanently locked to the account to prevent speculation and flipping?
I am Curious to hear everyone’s opinions. Are you collecting desirable usernames now, or do you think they’ll never have resale value?

Most likely they’ll stay locked to accounts. WhatsApp will probably avoid transfers or marketplaces to prevent scams and username flipping.
 
I would legit pay good money for a one syllable English word WhatsApp username. are there any marketplaces that offer this?

i already reserved
 
I grabbed a couple just in case, but not going crazy with it. WhatsApp is way more tied to real identity/phone/social graph than Telegram, so I doubt Meta wants a whole username flipping circus attached to it. Even if they never allow transfers, people will still try to sell the whole account, but that gets messy fast with bans, recovery, number ownership etc. Best play imo is reserve anything you actually might use, not dump time into 200 names hoping for a marketplace that prob never comes.
 
Interesting topic. I think Meta will definitely try to monetize WhatsApp usernames eventually, just like Telegram did with Fragment. Speculating on early, desirable names could be a high-reward move if they allow transfers

Tried to secure some fav username , but most of them are gone,

If they don't bring option to trade username people will still trade by sellng the whole account.
 
Am registered one of Elon mask company i think if they offer flipping accounts i will be rich
 
I got my username resevered. Its same as my Insta account. If you want to reserve popular or generic name you need a matching Insta account or Facebook account to link to Whatsapp to claim that username.

It looks like Whatsapp will become Telegram soon.
 
I think the value of a username is decent; it mainly depends on how long it has been in use and the user's habits.
 
i was able to reserve (blacklinks) as my username how much should i sell it for? as of now only have 500usd offer, should i wait or sell it.

I don't think so. Changing your username is as simple as changing it on any of the Meta platforms. Besides, if you wanted a specific username, it would be difficult to transfer. The system will only let you if it's available; it's just that Meta wants to unify everything.
