What's your "ritual" to focus and get work done?

I browse BHW a bit then get some tea and play some 1920's jazz. That probably makes me sound like a 90 year old but I am actually only 16. My music taste is quite odd for someone my age.
 
First i get rid of things that need my attention like emails, skype stuff, check stats rankings then I turn Chrome to Earbits.com and I start the job :cool:
 
Two non-Brits on the bounce who drink tea - that's unheard of.

I get up at 5.30, cup of tea, go for a walk on the river for a couple of miles, do some light exercise when I get back, shower and eat breakfast, with a cup of tea, make another tea and then I am good to go.
 
The routine changes depending on what I am doing but there is always one constant; cleaning. I cannot get anything done if I am in a messy office. Mild OCD requires me to get everything in its place before I can settle down and disappear into my work.
 
The solution for me is pretty easy - I got a desktop stopwatch that I start when I am working. I have set my goal to X hours and I do not go to sleep until I cover that many hours. Hell, I actually feel pressure not to waste any time.
 
I can work better after I drink coffee, then I go out for a while to take short walks around the neighborhood. I also make sure that not only my work table is clean. I also maintain a clean desktop. I remove all of the unnecessary files from my computer.
 
The pomodoro thechnique (google it) can really help you. Sometimes when I have problems focusing I do 1 pomodoro - from then everything starts going naturally. Most of the time I turn the timer off after the 1st pomodoro - thats all need to start, but sometimes I keep it running.
 
Run to the store, buy a 20 oz RedBull, take a 200mg Mod, turn on my Frank Sinatra, then grab my dry erase board to plot a mind-map.

I work best at night, so I'll put on some trance, or whatever genre I'm in the mood for, grab an energy drink, and get to it.

The time flies by :D

I have similar list of things i get rid of you just forgot to add "girlfriend" to it ;)
 
I can' .. i just can't , tried all of the above , call me lazy , retarded , whatever , i have been diagnosed with severe ADHD , and i refuse to take medication , nope no Adderall for me .
 
I've never done adderall, I was never a pill person myself.

What I do is listen to ASMR videos on YouTube, they relax me and they also help me keep focussed when I'm writing a fuckton of content.

I have ADHD as well but I can focus sort of well without any medication.
 
If you paid me enough money to retire to a newly built hacienda on South Beach, with unlimited Cuban Cigars and Evan Williams 23' Bourbon, I STILL wouldn't even CONSIDER touching an Adderall.

I didn't take one single pill for anything from about age 12 to age 27, not even a Tylenol. One day while reading up on brain and body hacking, I learned of Modafinil. Read a shit-ton for weeks, got a perscription, found an affordable guy... And I did my experiment. That experiment went so well, its not yet ended.

Mod is crazy ridiculous awesome. I mean, there really is no way with words to describe the effect it has. At first, I tried explaining eugeroics and neuroscience behind them to a few of my closest. I found out real quick that the effects are so amazingly bizarre, that people can't really comprehend it without tying the results to some other but more negatively perceived drug. I mean, I can now accomplish (and do) atleast 2-3X more "stuffs" productively, but at the same time I'm not running around "looking" for stuffs to do, (like washing the walls lol). My memory is sharper than a frogs hair split twice. My pattern recognition is ridiculous in ways I can't even describe. I control and manipulate my sleeping pattern (polyphasic 3-nap everyman; Will be at Dymaxion inside of 6-months), wake up without drowsiness, Get shit done... etc. I seriously put out 18-20 productive hours per weekday, and get three separate 3-hour sleep sessions each day over weekends.

No lie, as soon as I cut my sleep from 8-10 hours per day to the everyman, and manipulated my neural activity with Mod, my income doubled. In a week. I'm not selling or referring it, so don't even ask for a connect at all. But I give that drug my sworn to Allah, Jesus, Buddha and whoever else approval.
