I don't mean to hijack the thread, but starting a new one is kinda pointless with topics so confluent. I'd like to hear some opinions from fellow members on their 'inherited' intelligence from their parents, do they feel they are as intelligent as their parents, more intelligent, or I guess less? Though I doubt many would admit to that. Also, do you guys know people who are highly intelligent yet fall for conspiracies, pseudoscience, etc? In my surroundings it's sadly a bit too common. I know highly intelligent people who constantly fall into such stupid ways of thinking. I'm not even saying they have unpopular opinions, actually, just outright insane and crazy ones.
Also, I highly doubt the standard IQ score has much to do with success in life. I know dumbasses who are killing it, and most of the intelligent people growing up are turning out to be menial job people. Many can probably attest.
I think character completely trumps intelligence when it comes to doing basic business. If you wanna compete in intellectual disciplines, yeah, you will need both character and iq.
