Hi guys,

Doing some research here guys

If you can spare the time can you list your favorite joomla/wordpress/squeeze page layout/theme/template

Can you also explain why?

If you like a particular template site/developer can you tell me which particular templates and why?

Thanks in advance

Ukescuba

PS the reason i was asking was i was considering doing redesigns for them and actually optimizing the code, in most instances i usually find:

1) squeeze pages are badly coded/optimized
2) joomla templates are bloated with unnecessary code
3) wanted to convert the wordpress layout to a joomla layout and be optimized too

you may not think having an optimized layout makes a difference but i assure you it does...

ive seen people have checked this post out and havent left any comments, if i need to make it worth your while if you happen to leave your favorite layout and i choose to convert it over ill give you a copy of it to use

as always im trying to help you guys out...

thanks

most free template are shit. most 'off the cart' template have as many features as you can possibly handle making for bloated code.

I use wordpress for simple word based content based pages.

for ecommerce or multimedia sites i use joomla or oscommerce depending on the needs of hte clients because they both have excellent plugins and inventory methods.

hope that helps

Thanks Iamnomad what are the template names in particular that you like thats what im trying to find out, if i can find out what designs you like i can create similar ones but use optimized code instead...

hope that makes sense

Jay, are there advantages to installing Joomla for just a squeeze page? I'm looking for something that's just clean and simple/easy to use. Most of the good looking squeeze pages I like just look like basic HTML. I can post an example if it helps. I have a few Joomla templates but not sure if it's worth installing for just a single page. John

I find Joomla is a little bloated for basic stuff. Wordpress would be a better option.

Personally, I use Drupal over Joomla, but only for mid size projects. If your good with PHP, you can create something custom yourself for the smaller projects.

hi jamesjeffery i appreciate your comments but what i am actually looking for though are good examples of clean looking layouts, either squeeze pages, joomla, or wordpress templates

i have been working with joomla for best part of five years and even did a 2hr presentation with the founder of joomla at the SEM for SMB conference, however what I am trying to do is to create some extremely useful templates that are not bloated but would benefit the IM community - i have tutorials almost ready to show how quickly and easily it is to deploy a joomla site without basically any coding/techy know how what so ever, but i also want to give users a good reason to use joomla by giving templates that are specifically designed for IM.

amime i would appreciate any examples you could show me - thanks, same to everyone else

How abt thesis wordpress theme?

I was just looking at the thesis template the other day and it looks pretty slick. I like it. But for just doing a squeeze page is it worth installing a template?

for people who can code its pretty easy to throw something together - however for those that cant, its those people im trying to help

i personally hate squeeze pages, however what i hate more are squeeze pages that have been modified by people who dont know what they are doing, a badly formated sales page can in my opinion loose you sales!

am trying to put together a system here that is simple, quick to deploy and a no brainer to use :)

with all the templates i put in place whether for a small business or a squeezepage they will be efficiently coded, and well optimized and EASY to modifify/customize to suit the users needs... additionally they will come with all the relevant optional addons too, with emphasis on security, backup, email submission, embedded video, galleries, responders, payment gateways, user signup etc...

I use a custom html page on my wordpress set up for the squeeze page. The rest of the pages are generally on the wordpress theme. I too, have not found a simple and elegant squeeze page that is a wordpress template.

I like this one:

Code:
http://demo.rockettheme.com/?template=versatility4

Can you tell by looking at this if there's much room to improve or optimize it?
