What’s your current Facebook ad testing workflow?

these days, many let facebook’s ai do the heavy lifting, testing one thing at a time and using broader audiences. scaling usually means gradually raising budgets or using campaign budget optimization

It keeps changing, but I am testing a bunch with Cost per result and Bid caps.

On Bidcaps, it's hard to get actual spend going, but I am seeing better results with cost per action.

I still, however, go for most volume, purchase first to get the pixel going a bit before turning the campaigns into cost per result so I wouldn't know how it works if you start it right away.

Also, FOR SURE, seeing much better results right now, keeping all the ads in one ad-set.

After Andromeda things do feel somewhat better but as mentioned above I def am still fucking around and finding out

the way I find more effective recently is to separate the testing phase, run small cbo creative testing from 3-5 ads, 1 broad audience to find the winner first, then bring the winning ad through a scaling campaign with 2-3 broad audiences. this way helps the algorithm focus on signals and stabilize performance for longer.
Is this method effective?

I’m curious how everyone structures their creative and audience testing on Facebook in 2025.

I used to follow the classic method (3 creatives × 3 audiences × $400/day), but lately performance seems unpredictable.

How do you personally test and scale your winning ads today?
I use the classic method as well. It seems to do well but I'm in a very specific niche so that's why it works so well.

Facebook's use of artificial intelligence to test ads is something I've never seen before. I don't know what it will be like.

it’s pretty wild how far it’s come. facebook AI like advantage + campaigns does most of the testing for you now, takes a bit to trust it, but it actually works really well once it learns

I will try 1-1-1 campaign and start at low budget but I will run multiple campaigns in 1 day when the campaign that is not performing will be turned off for that day
How long have you been testing such a campaign?

Totally feel that testing has become way less predictable. Lately I just run one broad audience with multiple creatives, then let Meta optimize; once a few ads show steady performance, I scale slowly through CBO.
Thank you.!!

I stopped using fixed testing methods—they waste time and budget. Now I start small, test creatives on broad targeting, see what performs best, then scale slowly.

The 3x3 method can still be applied, but it needs to be combined with testing new campaigns with small budgets, relatively flexible audiences, and keeping and expanding what works well.

The 3×3 setup feels outdated now.
I just run broad CBO with 5–6 creatives, $100/day to start.
Let Facebook optimize — once something hits, I scale it with a new campaign + fresh creatives.
Weekly refresh is key in 2025, everything burns out fast.

This actually makes a lot of sense. I’ve been wasting days testing tiny audiences and stressing about interest overlap. When you say you scale with dupes, do you just duplicate the winning ad sets or the whole campaign?
it’s the ad sets, not the whole campaign

Recently it seems like Facebook is having some disadvantages in advertising, I also ran 3-4 campaigns with a budget of $500 but the results are not very good.

Creative testing in 2025 has definitely shifted! The classic structure still works, but Facebook's AI now prefers consolidated campaigns. Here's what's performing better: use Advantage+ campaigns with 5-7 creatives in one ad set, let Facebook's algorithm distribute budget automatically.

In Ads Manager → create "Advantage+ Shopping" or use CBO (Campaign Budget Optimization) with broader audiences. Test creatives using "Dynamic Creative" feature - Facebook mixes elements and finds winners faster.

For scaling, duplicate winning creatives into new campaigns rather than increasing budget too fast (20% daily max). I've seen 40% better ROAS using this AI-driven approach versus manual splits.

The key is feeding Facebook's algorithm more data in fewer campaigns.

What's your current testing budget per campaign, and have you tried letting Advantage+ handle the creative distribution automatically?

Thanks for sharing your meaning

Testing not add so much value now. It used to be easier now is way harder...... Keep the budget low initially /day as is not a point to run more than 150$/day and make an informed decision on what ad perform best and put then all the egg in that basket
