Hi, I know there are a lot of n00bs that ask questions like this, but I searched long and hard and I didn't find any questions like this one in particular. I think that this thread would be a good opportunity for people to share their best traffic techniques.... SO if you have anything to share that could possibly help someone get 5-10k uniques in a day, including links to other threads, it would be much appreciated by many people, including myself. Feel free to share any methods that have shown you good results... anyone that shares any useful information will receive thanks from me. :D

I am not asking for a handout, I am simply trying to improve the community by starting a thread where people can share and discuss their best traffic techniques. I personally have been successful with twitter and youtube, but I know that I have a lot more to learn.

My two best methods of getting traffic aren't black hat. The first is creating something viral even if it's just within small niche communities. You don't need everyone on all the social media sites talking about your site. You can get just as good if not better (because of targeting) traffic by making a post on a niche forum related to your site that "wows" people and makes them start talking.

The other method is plain old SEO done white hat. Research, create, rank, repeat. The best part about this traffic is it's much more stable and long term if done correctly. I've tried black hat ranking of sites and using those to link to money sites, etc but never had much success.
 
I know many people use email marketing as their main income/traffic source. Might wanna check that out. I like to use PPC to get my traffic when selling something. SEO is something everyone needs to do. Like you said youtube is good, you should hit other video sites too.

Everyone will have a different "best" traffic hehe.

Just curious, what type of email marketing are you referring to? aweber opt in type or mass spammish type?

My biggest source of traffic comes from PPC and I like MSN because I can get cheap clicks that returns decent conversions. I do use Google too but you have to be very careful because you spend a lot more per click. They just deliver so much more traffic so I test on MSN and ramp up with Google once I know it's a winner.

I SEO my sites to death and that translates into good organic listings that build good traffic over time. I also write my own articles and Ezine Articles brings me traffic everyday from articles I wrote years ago.

I give away a lot of free reports and sprinkle in a few affiliate links and usually offer another free report that is related with a link back to my site. That brings me traffic and I find the freebie seekers like to click on my AdSense ads. As long as there are just a few links it's successful but put too many in and it turns people off.
 
ezcoin has some very good points. I also use article marketing (ezine, goArticles, etc) and
pr5 and above backlinks. I also use my own traffic that I sell (wink) and use keyword rich sites. All this good stuff does not come real quickly!! Patience:)

Yep. Patience is a virtue and your biggest enemy in getting ranked :(
 
I use several techniques to drive traffic and having read more than 100's of thread posting the same question so i just made a post on my blog. :D

use mailing lists it really depends on your content if you have good content then a lot of people tend to revisit your site

At the moment I'm still going with articles but I've been doing profile links with great results. It sucks having to come up with new material. With profile links I can just space out while I do them. :D
 
My best traffic technique is still PPC. It is Fast, Simple And Easy....except that you have to part with some $$$ first.

PPC with a positive ROI is the BEST!
 
well my traffic is from the strateggy oldie goldie..
Same old thing..find good keywords..make on page seo..off page seo..and than let get google deliver you quality traffic!!
 
I agree i used ppc, once you have a positive ROI you can just ramp it up, i used to pay 500K to Google /year for 4K Uniques/day but would rather have it free also. 10K-15K Uniques i would pay a lot of money for if its the right traffic..

Sure you may get lots of traffic but for the wrong keywords ( especially those buy traffic offers) you will prob get few or no conversions. And yes i have keywords with 10K traffic and 0 conversions.

Most good black hatter sites run like 100 visits per day what they do is they make sure they get 10 conversions from that Traffic. Make sure its relevant and high converting then move onto the next site. Build 100 sites for 100 visits per day and you have 10K per day what better is its very targetted.
 
Right now I'm drawing most of my traffic through the SE's, but surprisingly a close 2nd would be from forums themselves. It depends on the niche, but I've always found things like social networking and youtube to be too low on conversions considering the time spent.

Mine is the following. Research niche domains with a couple k of traffic per month and little to no competition. You'll rank fast and get traffic fast.
