What's Your Best Performing LinkedIn Content Format?

Being a old Linkedin user, I have tried text-only posts, carousels, images, polls, and short videos over the past few months. The results have been quite different depending on the niche and audience. My question is for those who are getting consistent engagement on LinkedIn, which content format is currently performing best for you? It would be interesting to compare experiences and see whether certain formats are working better across different industries.
Polls usually do the trick, because people are curious creatures and they will start conversations about the options of the polls.

Its all about dwell time and getting people to click that "see more" button in the first two lines. @lucasmiller is right that most carousels look identical now, but uploading a PDF still gets the best reach because it keeps people on the post longer. If you are trying to drive traffic off the platform though, format doesn't matter as much as editing the link in after publishing... otherwise the algo kills the reach anyway.

I have made some very successful posts and the one thing I can tell you is that they were very valuable and on a topic of interest to people. Once I posted an interesting series of posts on the Stake brand and they got very decent traffic. You can definitely make posts which engage the audience and share experiences, but this kind of content does not suit me.

For me, text posts have been the most consistent. Simple posts that share a real experience or lesson usually get better engagement than polished graphics or polls.

i would say that my most consistent formats have been carousels nd short and concisse posts. video posts may also be effective but they will be effective only if they deliver their message very quickly. what i believe to be more important is the topic of the post.

pdf carousels still seem to do the best for reach because of dwell time, but you gotta game the external link penalty. editing the link in later works sometimes but the algo has gotten smarter about that recently. lately i've had way better results doing comment baiting... tell them to reply with a specific keyword to get the document and then use some basic automation to auto-dm them. keeps the comment section moving and pushes the post out to 2nd and 3rd degree connections pretty fast.

In my opinion, people on social media tend to watch more videos. Specifically, videos about food attract a lot of viewers; they showcase cultural diversity and national identity.
