By conversion rate I mean these things:

    - Conversion of visitors on your website into clicks (seen in GA)
    - Conversion of clicks into sales (seen in Amazon Associates account)

Please share average price of your promoted products as well.

I have a couple of Amazon sites for a couple of months, average conversion of clicks into sales is 4%. $20 to $100 (5%) products obviously convert better than those for $5000 (300 clicks, 0 sales so far for me).

The uglier the site is, the better conversion rate of visitors into clicks is for me. I have struggled for a lot of time to convert ProReview theme into something that really attracts clicks, but I have 20% conversion rate (clicks/visitors) right now, while the ugliest HeatMap WP theme with a little tweaks and a design from 90s converts at 80% right now.

Once you get couple of hundreds of visitors per day, there's shitload of things you can do to optimize conversion rates (make visitors click Amazon links). Here's what I have learned, it might be helpful:

    1. If you are using tables (like most micro niche sites do), use big images. If you have micro niche websites, don't make tables (Tablepress usually) with 5 small colums. Make 2 colums and use big images, they will convert better.

    2. If you have a lot of embedded Youtube videos on some of your pages, it is great and helpful for visitors, but not for you. I have removed 2 embedded videos from a single (most popular landing) page in the past few days and conversion of visitors into clicks got better x4 approximately.

    3. You don't need big H3 tags with "Check the price on Amazon now". You can use several Amazon affiliate links on the same page, play with the text. "Check some real customer testimonials", "Check available discounts" and similar text works better for me. Make sure you make them different. 3 single links on a page with anchors about pricing info look spammy. Use 1 for customer testimonials, 1 for more features, 1 for pricing info. They all link to Amazon product of course.

    4. Sidebar is king. Use Photoshop and make a banner of the best product you want to sell. Put it on sidebar as a widget, make sure you show on it that there's available discount (if there is, it usually is on Amazon). You can put widget on top of sidebar for max conversions, but again, the site will look more spammy. Play with it once you reach couple of hundreds visitors per day.

    5. Use Easyazon, but you will have some coding to do to make it work on some review WP themes.
