I just manually commented on 31 pages.. Hell, it takes some time and I was just wondering how many in your experience actually come up.

I did it by putting in

    "%keyword%" -"comments * closed" +"Name (required)"

In google and then I took some that were posted within the last year but most posts were made within the last month.

Until now, I've only been using software for backlinking, but I can see a potential in this if lets say 1/3 is accepted. I'm looking for alternatives now that google seem to try to really get rid of software backlinks and if I can just hire a guy for $1/hour it would be $.10 per proper comment coming from a very relevant page.

For $50 I could then get around 500 good quality links which should be more than enough to rank a lot of my pages.

It's all about the money and keeping a sustainable diverse linkbuilding programme =)

did you use a name or an anchor text in the name field? I think this has a significant effect as to whether it will be accepted...

Where can you get linkbuilders for 1$ an hour? lol

Yes, well that's my next test. I only used my keyword as anchor.

Tomorrow, I'll do 30-35 with my name as anchor and the day after I'll try another 30-35 with anchor but a "regards, Thomas" after my comment.

Odesk/freelancer. They don't need much brain as I tell them exactly what to do. I think it's possible to do around 50-70 per hour if you're dedicated.

For what purpose you are doing the commenting. If you are doing for SEO, then you can use the key word and from there you can give a link to your site. The main purpose is the site visit. If you are using the key word, then it can help to improve the key word count of your site. Some site don't allow the key words in the user name. There you can use your name.
