Whats wrong with Paypal???

I planned on purchasing Scrapebox, so I went straight to the site's bhw page and clicked on buy now button. I'm from India, so I can't use my PayPal to buy this software. I begged my brother to let me use his credit card and he agreed, I entered all the details and when the transcation was being processing, it shows- "this card can not be used for this transcation", I was like okay I will find another way to buy it. But suddenly my brother called me and said $1 is deducted from his credit card.

Now can anybody here tells me - Is this normal?? Do they deduct $1 for just processing a credit card, even if there wasn't any transaction completed or it's a mistake?? Should I ask my brother to call bank ??

You can't use your brother's credit card. the card linked to the account has to be in your name.

about $1 i am not sure, but they may return to your account.

As I said, it's not linked to my paypal, I used cc directly on checkout...

I asked my brother to call bank for this $1 transaction. Will post whatever response, I receive...

They might credit back to your brothers card within the next 24 hours. But yeah, PP has been crossing the line now.

Its normal charges on your card for transaction made .
I use a payoneer card , each time i check my account balance on the ATM , i get deducted about $1 .

When a transaction fails ie : Institution not avaailable , temporarily unable to dispense cash , any for any other error i get debited , it happens to all payoneer users and we have to live with it . As for you brother , maybe the card he is using has got that same featuer too you never can tell .

why couldn't he use it? it doesn't need to be linked to a paypal account, he can pay directly with a CC without even having a paypal acc
the denial must be because of some other reason

kinda interesting though, paypal can't accept the card for payment, but they are able to deduct $1...
there are basically 2 possibilities at this point:
- preauthorization hold: the money will be released after a few days
- unsuccessful transaction fee: your $1 is gone (in this case it wasn't paypal, but the card issuer bank)

I have the same problem, i'm used GSM provider connection with dynamics IP when purchased it

from some forum said probably our account have been review
then i'll wait 2x24 hours

after 2x24 i use connection from my office (i dont know this is static or dynamic IP), and Bingoo problem solved

hopely it can help

almost always the $1 is just an authorization and will be refunded

i think they check validity of the card by taking $1.. they will refund it but not sure why they took it when nothing else was processed

Yes, PP puts a hold of $1 to verify the CC is genuine. It will be reversed after a few days. Do not worry. It tells you this before you click OK....but who reads it eh ;-)

I'm also from India. I purchased SB with BHW discount using my own Paypal account without any issues. And $1 deduction was happened to me once when I cancelled my purchase after entered the card details. It is processing fee may be.
