I wasted around 2 days fixing my old slim PS2 and now that it fully works I've played it for about 20 minutes and I just don't feel like playing. I used to play all sorts of games for hours daily whenever I could and now I just seem to be bored of consoles in general. I also own a Wii which has been sitting in the cupboard for the past 2 years, I have only played it for a few months. What's funny is that I'm only 18. Maybe I need to get myself a PS3? But then again I've played it at my friends house for quite some time too and after playing it for a few hours straight it feels boring. What's wrong?!! Anyone experienced something similar? I guess I'm slowly growing out of games?

Boy do I know that feeling...it's almost depressing, haha.

I used to play console games as if all consoles would be destroyed if I didn't spend every waking minute playing them.

Now, I don't even care...at all.

Now I use my xbox 360 (all three of them...in three different rooms of the house) exclusively for recording TV, watching TV & streaming movies I've downloaded to my computer to my television (so I don't have to burn them to a DVD).

I've got a Wii that collects dust...complete waste of money...not because it's a bad system, just because I find playing games so effing boring now.

The last game I played religiously was Gears of War (when it first came out)...I've tried playing that, and I just feel like I'm wasting my time.

P.S. - I'm only 24

You got a girlfriend maybe? Other than that, hmm, fallout new vegas is not boring.

ur focused on making money thru technology now so maybe subconsciously u are thinking u need to be making money like them instead of wasting time making them rich...i know thats what has happened to me...i have all 3 consoles (actually 5 double ps3's and wii's) and one wii see's action from my 4 yr old...i use the ps3 in the living room to watch movies online...btw anyone knows how to update the adobe player on the ps3...some sites require v10 and i cant upgrade thru the console

i'v been there!... you just need REALLY good game or nothing else to do... when you have working internet in the building... then your propably going to do googlin and learning new stuff here.

I have been gamer for my whole young age.. after turning 18 i have discovered that i can enjoy googling usefull stuff/reading forums than playing a game.. depressing and i think i'm going insane day-by-day because of massive flow of information that i read 12 hours-a-day.

I have GF, and always when i think i'm "feeling like i could play".. she asks me to cuddle, which is not a bad thing, but it just occupies me from my precious computer until i dont have kicks for playing anymore haha.

For me the big difference is IM for sure. This has taken over my life, because it's gaming in real life for real rewards. You use intellect, art, strategy, hardwork, determination and spend hours and hours in front of your computer....the big difference is this shit results in money. And in he back of your mind, you know the better you get, the harder you work, the more you learn the more money you can make.

My down time is actually spent in this forum. I will break from IM and read this forum and write some posts. Then I'm back to work.

I think eventually when I have my income coming in at a rate that I feel is acceptable for me, then I will be gaming again.

This is the first time I had money to Buy Call Duty - Black Ops, and I didn't even think twice about it. I couldn't fathom spending that much time on a game, when I can be playing this IM shit and be banking!

That's what's up!

hahaha, I see that I'm not the only one then :p

I remember the good old times, all those hours spent in front of the TV, now it's completely changed. I guess I might give PS3 a try, not really a fan of Xbox, but then again I was born with SNES and Playstation so this might be the reason.

Unfortunately not, lmao. I have played Fallout New Vegas and at first I got into it but after completing a few (long) quests which in the end were quite disappointing I got kind of bored of it because it seems quite monotonous. Maybe I should give it another go? :)

I have PS2 , PS3 , Xbox 360 , The full set of guitar hero , more than 150 games and I didn't touch them for the past 9-10 months . I get bored as soon as I touch the controller

The funny thing is , I found myself at 8 Pm earlier this week of front of futurshop on the queue to buy Call Of Duty Black OPS , and I didn t open it yet .

on the other hand I dont get bored when I m on one of my computers.
I think because on my head it is better to be on the internet so you can learn a new thing or two every couple of hours .
I dont know how to explain it but I m only 23 years old and I m not suppose to be as I am now lol

Maybe your games suck? get some games that are interesting to play, such as God of War 3 and Heavy Rain.. or Uncharted. Shooters get boring after a while, but play campaign on the above games is fun as its intriguing, its like watching a movie..

shade, perhaps you're starting to realize that there's so much more to life than just playing video games?

that's what it was like for me anyway :P

i used to play video games day in and day out up until about a year ago. now i don't play video games at all any more. moved on to bigger and better things (like IM :D)

That's what I think too but then again I don't really do a lot anyway.

I've just watched a demo gameplay of God of War 3 and I feel kind of intrigued by the game. We'll see how it goes, might get it by Christmas. :D

Edit: I must say something that just came up on my mind, not too long ago I got a new PSP game and I remember moaning about not having enough time to actually play it. I'm quite an unorganized person hence this might be the issue.

During highschool I was addicted(specifically to counter strike and ultima online).
As I got to college I still gamed but as I turned a college senior my gaming slowed down and since I got a wife and kid my gaming is null :(
Although I have been thinking about getting back into it soon but mostly would be just counter strike games where you dont have to build a character and all that time consuming stuff.

Because as you grow up more you start questioning your life more and you start making decisions, you cant sit around and play all day like you use to, its when you realize you have to start being productive to live a happy life. When your younger and a kid you have nothing to worry about, you just want to have fun and do whatever, you dont realize or understand whats wasting time and what isnt so long as its entertaining you.

When your older the game just has to be really good to get into it, thats how I am. I use to go to gamestop and trade in games all the time when I was younger and just sit there and stare at all the games and making the decision which one to get was like the hardest thing in life at the time. now I would hate even walking into one.

Its also the fact that you need to be playing multiplayer games if you want to be entertained as an adult, just because playing with other people just doesnt seem so pointless as to wandering around in a single player game for hours.

I dont get interested in games like god of war, sure its fun for about what 5-6 hours then your done and you start wondering why the **** you spent 60 bucks on it. While as multiplayer games like call of duty can keep you entertained much longer and its well worth the price tag.

That's actually a really good point there, I think that my issue is the fact that I'm unorganized. I've always got something to do or to finish off but I end up doing nothing. Playing games makes me feel like I'm wasting time hence I don't play. To be honest if you truly think about it, playing games is kind of a big time waster as you don't really get anything in return, okay you are having fun but is there anything more to it?

some would say it's just the body's way of telling you to spend more time with your penis, but not me.

UK eh? fifa looks good, don't you play that? i stopped games due to my eyes, but i'll probably get back into it. i think you hit the nail on the head with your first line when you used the word "wasted" in setting it up, which means at the moment you feel you got better things to do, which is usually true.

lol I suck at Counter Strike, the moment I get into a game I die before I kill anyone and I really don't understand how some of these people are so good at it? It's like, I'm good with console games but when it comes to Counter Strike the moment I spot an opponent I die before I manage to aim properly.

The last time I've played CS was probably just over a year ago...

I have the SAME EXACT feeling. I hate it.

Dude if you want to be enticed more check out God of War 3 1st boss or second etc. Some users have uploaded some of the bosses you encounter and dam this is gaming at its best!

Since I fixed my PS2 I will probably be getting God of War and God of War 2, to get an understanding in the story. :p

Its funny how all of us arrived here also! To this community of all places!

So true.

to be honest, i havent played on my playstation 3 for a year now, although i was a real game maniac when i was 20...
I guess we are getting old :)
