What’s working in digital marketing today?

You ask very broad question. Everything works, its only matters who aplies it.
 
I started around 2002. I would say the primary change has been social media. Social media, video, etc. These are the things that are working today and working extremely well, but mastering it is just so different from traditional digital marketing and SEO. Testimonials are live, each platform requires different strategies, etc.
 
In my opinion, personalized content and data-driven strategies are key in digital marketing today. Building authentic connections and leveraging emerging platforms like TikTok also play vital roles in staying ahead.
 
This is very generic question, if you learn a ton of shit over the years, it will get to a point you'd realize you are good A and not B; but the next guy beside you sucks at A and good at B.

Apply yourself to something that works for you. In other words, no one's gonna give you a hand out on the bucket list of what's working.

Nobody is going to tell you, nobody wants to invite competition.
 
All methods work but you should avoid crowded niches. With less efforts , you can make more in new niches or make money online.
