I'd like to know what's working for you right now. Being a Lone Ranger I don't get the beauty of human discussions.
Back when we could see PR I would just set up 1-3 post on blogswithba pr3 or above with on topic content the category would be the broad search term. Then pile a load of EM anchors and that used to smash it. Even post penguin. Then I got a little worried about getting the boot from penguin so I used to set up subdomains on the money site install blog, add 2-3 posts. Wack in a load of Em anchors. Then 301 a domain to each subdomain. Theory being all EMAT is internal. This worked well for some sites in combo with the first method. Now it don't really budge sites as a single method.
Now I just build more pro looking sites and use them to EMAT and brand link. Since Fred and what ever I just see everything being so slow. Not budging some sites of the top of page two and some just sitting bottom of page one. I used to see results in 7-14 days and now it's well over 5 weeks.
It's not a penalty or devalue as you would drop down lower then a couple of positions right? More a couple of pages? But then if penguin is automatic then maybe it's discounted some of my latest exact match anchors, although my 301 create a diverse link profile the money terms are under 1% on incoming links. So I'm not sure if it's that.
So is it my domains I'm buying are jank. As of course are metrics we use to determine worth are just values of some other companies algorithms and not Googles?
one example is I have a site where it's been stationary for 6 months, then 6 weeks ago I put a new site up and started the seo moved to page one r5/6 for terms then just dropped back to 9 and 12.
The thing is the sites I'm competing with one of them has only 6 linking domains the tools show me and the others are not much different. It is early days though.
So I guess what I'm asking is are privatebn still good and should I drop the exact anchors and just link with branded anchors when doing things.
