My follower count is slowly growing but getting people to actually comment or interact seems much harder than it used to be.

Copy really matters. A good copy makes me want to stop scrolling and leave a comment. So my advice is to weave some talking points into your copy to get people talking, and make sure you're responding quickly right after posting. That initial boost makes a huge difference.

the #1 metric right now is reposts, reshares and saves. if people are sharing and saving your content instagram will promote it to more people.

short useful posts that give people a reason to share an opinion work best Asking a specific question at the end also tends to generate more genuine comments than generic engagement bait.

Simple posts that give people something easy to respond to seem to work best. Asking for opinions or sharing something relatable usually gets me more comments than just posting and hoping people interact.

it is much simpler for imo to provide feed back on something that actually sparks some kind of reaction in him or her other than just posing the question, What do you think? A bit of opinion goes a long way.

yah i do think that passive followers are far easier to get than active folowers. i have learned that posing a particular question or providing content that resonates with ppl is better than simply updating my status. at times, having fewer but active followers is better than having many followers.

Try sharing your own experience or results. Real examples usually give people something to discuss.

I’m seeing short, useful posts and genuine replies work better than just posting more often. Asking a specific question at the end also seems to get people talking instead of just scrolling past. I haven’t tested every platform myself, so I’d look at your own recent posts and see what gets real comments, not just likes.

Ive noticed that asking a specific question at the end works better than simply posting information People need an easy reason to join the conversation

Same here Getting followers is one thing but turning them into an active community is much harder

For me engagement improves when there is something worth reacting to. Just ending a post with What do you think? usually doesn’t do much. Sharing a genuine perspective or a relatable idea gives people a reason to agree disagree or add their own thoughts. I would take a smaller active community over a huge audience that never interacts.

For me short posts with a clear opinion or question get the most engagement People are more likely to comment when there is something specific to agree or disagree with

For me, asking simple questions and actually replying to people has worked best. Seems like genuine interaction matters more than just posting often.

Yes, people's follow and interaction aren't as proportional as they used to be. Now they just quietly share with each other and chat privately.

follower growth and engagement are two different battles give people a reason to join the conversation, not just a reason to scroll past the post.

Make your content more interesting and easy to reshare and you will have solved the problem with them putting comments on your content.

@Zy3399 is right about the private sharing, but if you need public comments for the algorithm you have to bait them. honestly, the easiest way is using Cunningham's Law... post a slightly incorrect stat or a mild hot take. People on social media physically cannot resist correcting someone. Also, if a post has zero comments nobody wants to be first. you need to seed the first three or four comments yourself using burner accounts to set the tone and get some friction going.

Getting followers is only part of the process. Meaningful engagement usually comes from content that gives people a reason to share their opinion. Simple question, relatable topics, ad replying to comments can help turn passive followers into active ones. Consistency aslo makes a big difference.

Yeah, I think having an actual opinion helps a lot. Posts that give people something specific to agree or disagree with usually get better replies than just asking for engagement.
