Over the last couple months I have noticed that hyperlinks on Slideshare uploads have not been working consistently, has anyone else noticed this? Like even uploads I had from months ago that worked fine one day you could look at them and click on an image that should open a webpage but the image is not clickable all the sudden, then a day later it works. I uploaded a powerpoint a couple days ago and I have been checking it and it still is not clickable on any of the hyperlinks or images. I have even gone around testing other peoples slides and it is very inconsistent some link some don't, even one powerpoint had the same hyperlink on several pages, but only on the 4th page was it clickable ? Does anyone know anything about this or have experienced this issue?

I have over 500 documents with links and everything is OK. Must be something else.

I just found a thread that got started on WF with all the people having problems, so it's not just me. And like I said this problem seems to come and go for documents I checked.

anyone heard anything more about this?

I got an email from Slideshare about some of my documents are against their TOS a few months ago. They were all containing affiliate links.

Here are his words exactly:

please note that the content you uploaded is in violation of our ToS (links leading to sites soliciting the sale of a service). If these are not remove it may lead to the suspension of your account (Please note all of your files are currently in violation)
.

Maybe they are starting to remove links in Slideshares that are against their TOS?

I noticed this issue a week ago. Some of my links are clickable, some aren't.
It seems slideshare start catching marketers.

I wish I knew what all the details were, like the slide I uploaded a couple days ago linked to a tumblr blog not straight to a affiliate link of any kind, and it was immediately not clickable, so Idk maybe they have blacklisted tumblr urls?

I have also noticed this. The slides are not working but if you upload .doc documents, links works perfectly. I think there is a problem in their conversion system.

Still using slideshare? Looks like they are deleting uploads every 10 minutes if they consider them as "spam".

I have left it using when my clients started complaing about the links getting deleted. It has become more strict

Read their update guidelines, they hav put more restriction to clean their system.

Same problem Here. A messeage from getsatisfcation: Solved !. The hyperlinks do not work only in the first 3 pages of PDF documents uploaded onto SlideShare. All other links from page 4 onward do work as normal. This is a technical filter that the SlideShare team has now implemented in order to fight spam.

This
and i have stopped using it. There are many doc sharing sites out there. Replace it.

Ive been having the same problem. Its not just you. I have slides created in openoffice with links on the 3rd page that work. And others with links later that do not work. I though maybe they were filtering due to my url im using so I uploaded the same but replaced the links with google.com but they are still not clickable.

Googling the problem finds posts from a couple of years ago talking of a bug in the change over to html5 but surely thats fixed by now.

Previous month exactly the same thing happened for 2 days. I'm affraid that was a test and now they are implementing this for good. Even links on paid accounts (PRO) slides are not working which gives me a litle hope that maybe this is temporary. If not they shoot in their own foot and will lose huge part of traffic.

So slideshare is becoming more strict? If the links won't be clickable anymore, then they'd definitely lose a fair amount of popularity.

I just uploaded a .doc and still no links working

Hey guys, this was addressed in another thread. He said that links can only be placed after the 3rd page of powerpoint presentations.

I cant post links, so if you want to see the entire thread just search ' slideshare ' here on BHW. Was the first result.
