Yeah, I’ve noticed the same trend — AI/automation channels are popping up everywhere, but YouTube seems to favor real people and authentic stories again. Lately I’ve been experimenting with personal vlogs, mini-documentaries, and behind-the-scenes content. Engagement is way higher when viewers feel there’s a human connection.
Shorts still work for quick exposure, but for long-term growth, real content with personality seems to stick.

What's trending is finding a format of videos and beating it to death.
For example something like this https://www.youtube.com/@stimulateplayers
Why it's good? Because you don't have to constantly find new ideas which is time consuming.
This channel is a good example of how often you should upload. It's not a great niche, but a good example of consistency and variety.
Do not upload 50 videos on the same day. Spread it over time.

YouTube is shifting back toward authentic content. Real stories personality based videos and documentary style formats are now getting more engagement than generic AI or automation channels.
