Whats the right time to install SSL Certificate

Hello all,

I have just started a new blog on .com domain using wordpress and my target is to get visitors from search engine. I have only added one or two post on it and now I want to install SSL certificate on it, because I have read that Google announces that SSL cert domain will perform good in search engine.
I want to know what is the best procedure to install SSL ? Is it best to install it on fresh domain & hosting with no wordpress and install wordpress after it or do I install it on the wordpress site I am running now ? or it doesn't matter before or after wordpress installation.

I am confused on it because I think on already installed wordpress it will redirect links (and redirect links will make my site slow or it will not perform well in SEO) or if I install wordpress after installing SSL then the links will perform naturally as they do in a wordpress website.

Please clear me on that is that actually happens or its my misconception ?

It should be one of the first things you do when you start a new site.
 
If you aren't really ranking anything yet, just install it now. You'll regret it otherwise.

Can I install it on the wordpress website running now or its better to first uninstall that wordpress then install SSL and then again install wordpress ?
Please clear my confusion.

Was told the earlier the better.

If you already have wordpress installed, its fine to add ssl after
 
Why you all make this guy confused. He just wanted to know when should he add SSL in his site for better performance.
Basically you(sky) can add it whenever you want. My suggest add it ASAP.

Most hosting companies come with Free SSL :)
 
One of the first things that should be done these days!

Google will prioritize sites with an SSL
 
Always get the basics done at the initial stage, thus by all means implement the SSL right away.
If you implement later , when your site is already grown and with all the non-SSL links already indexed on the search engine, changing the links from http to https will cause your SERP ranking jump around for some time.
Thus, if you implement now, all links would be indexed as https, thus your ranking will be more stable in the process.
 
Do it as soon as possible. It should be the first thing to think about when you are getting a new site.
 
No need to worry about this. If you have already installed WordPress and worried about the links than you can use redirection method to be unaffected from any SEO effects. However, it’s the best idea to install SSL Certificate on a fresh website.
 
It'll be permanent Redirect(301) to https ; it'll not affect you. And take your SSL from the beginning.
