What's the point of PPC?

I wonder what is the point of advertising in PPC networks affiliate offers? Aren't the offers themselves advertising on the PPC networks, so you have a much bigger competition.

Do you think that every offer is a ppc winner ? Think again , most of them wont get you a profit so you have to keep on tweaking the ads and landing pages and so on until you make a profit , thats why they need affiliates , to do this.

And once they know all of your ads and keywords they drop you and do it all themselves. This is one of the big reasons blanking referrer was started. They will let you figure out how to make their stuff sell then as soon as you are starting to get a return on your investment they cut off the channel to affiliates and do it themselves.

It's been going on since before overture (now yahoo, formerly go2).

To answer the original question it is to find trustworthy networks that do not compete with their affiliates and put as much energy taking care of their affiliates as they do their advertisers.

With the same logic, I was looking to become a forex broker and find out what strategies are winning and copy them... it's a cruel world :/
