what's the best hosting service for someone who wants to eventually grow into something like it needs to handle the hundreds of hours of videos we'd upload eventually. how much does a service like this cost?
Also, if we begin designing the site using wordpress, can we switch over to better tools later on? is it even wise to begin with wordpress?

First I would write out a scope of what you are planning to grow the business to. you could build the site out in wordpress now and convert later but that will also cause a good amount of work load and traffic loss by links being different and so on.
