Like the title of the thread states, whats the current going rate for a full time article writer.

Something along the lines of 40 hours per week.

I'd be looking for someone like us/uk writer.

Or prehaps someone who's first language isn't english but has excellent english writing skills.

Any idea on the going rates?

Probably depends on how good of a writer you are... Selling 500 word articles for $5 a piece will require you to spend a ton of time writing just to get by. But there are sites that pay $20 to $50 for an article of 600 words or so. www.constant-content.com is the only one I've found, but the problem is there aren't that many people there requesting content. So if there are no topics you can write about, that site is kind of useless to you.

I've heard that professional level publishers will often pay hundreds of dollars for one well-written article, but I'd imagine that the professional writing circuit takes many years to break into.

I'm not a article writer, although i can write high quality articles. I'm more of an employee and looking to build up a vast amount of article writers thus why i wanted a few opinions on the cost of a article writer full time.

Just to get a basis on what monthly cost's would be and see if a writer full time is much better then paying per job.
