I see this time and time again but I have no idea why they do it..

Multiple items clearly under priced... I'd assume when you message they follow up with some scam but they never reply to me :/

It's not a scam. They just want to show up higher in the search results.

If you message them they will tell you that the real price is something more reasonable.

I swear the Chinese factories could run a masterclass on ecommerce.

On Alibaba and Aliexpress, merchants run all sorts of tricks to convince people to buy - from listing prices with price ranges - where the lower end is the advertised price, and will be for something really cheap.

For example, they'll advertise a coffee maker for $2.69 and when you click into you'll see the coffee maker is like $60 and the coffee cup filter is $2.69 - so they're not outright lying.

Or they'll list the unit price at $2.69 and the shipping at $60.

People will list cars for 1$ to get them to be #1 when people search for cheapest cars. This trick is as old as classified websites are.

Btw, pro tip, if you actually want to buy something much cheaper on fb marketplace, instead of searching for the exact item, look for ones that are titled the way like a person who doesn't really understand what he has would describe it.

Example: playstation 4 pro model cuh 7216b price 200$
Example2: game console - 100$

I've bought a lot of things much cheaper this way, the people who are selling it couldn't even be bothered to google its true value or what "specific model" it is.

The dumbbells in your picture are overpriced.

That's what I expected but usually it would say in the comments the real price. O try messaging them just to understand what's going on and get no response :/

Just to appear at the top, you click buy and they will show the real price
Either they remove a 0 or 79 is the amount of accessories in that product, not the price of the set

Like everyone replied it's not scam. Haha just try it and you will see what's it is bro

maybe 79 is just one of the parts of that product on the search results. You will see the real price of the product when clicking on the link

They might be to grab your attention and for further engagement.

That coffee maker costs about $1,000
Before, I worked in the cf industry, I know
I think they put that price so you can click to ask for the price
and they will quote you a different price

i think they want to show up higher in the search results, and when you text with them, you will have real price

It seems they do not focus on selling on this channel
