If you want to be a web developer then you have to learn HTML and CSS which are basic languages. and then Javascript, jQuery, PHP.
And if you are talking about Mobile App development then learn JAVA and XML for Android and C for iPhone.

Why not use the thing called youtube and find videos on coding and lessons, I am pretty sure that someone out there actually makes videos like that, good luck!

If you want to learn Game Development then i will recommend you to learn C# because using this language you can develop games for almost any platform in "Unity 4" (Search about it on Google).

Go to college and get yourself a college education if you want to learn how to code because the only way to succeed in life is through a college education and the only way you will find a job programming is through college and... Just kidding! Go to YouTube and look up tutorials. Once you have some basic knowledge of the programming language that you want to learn, you can practice by creating the codes yourself (for example, when I wanted to learn HTML, I would practice coding with Blogger). When you come across a piece of code you don't understand, look it up to learn about it. Eventually, you'll procure a decent understanding of that programming language.

coding is a skill which can only be learned by a gifted person. by gifted i mean who really have interest in learning it. you can start by going from ( fundamentals ) to object oriented (which is the real shit). but then again i see lot's of good programmer's lack imagination and creativity. the only thing which will make you a pro in the art of programming is keep practicing, doing it everyday 365 days a year, 7 days a week and 18 hour's a day.

I have learned a little of everything but never had the drive to keep going. Better to meet up with others so you have someone to work with. Don't spent money on Lynda.com or other sites because those videos are shared all over the place for free. Like torrents, many Lynda videos are on Demonoid or The Pirate Bay. Videos are the best for me.

Only Videos that I ever paid for is Ruby on Rails. easy code to learn.

I think you can get most of the things from w3schools.com. Also you should use youtube for fast learning. It helps a lot.

    http://www.codecademy.com/

Hands down the easiest way to learn some basic coding about HTML, CSS and javascript. After you learnt the basics:
    http://stackoverflow.com/

is the place where you can ask questions regarding coding problems. Determination is the key here for coding, it took me six months to code my own website. But it really is worth it, you can create web experiences a wordpress site just CANNOT re-create.

The best way to learn is by taking a class at community college. Second best is read a book and enlist a tutor if you need help. I am currently tutoring someone in high school on C++ and prepare lessons that a give twice a week. It really depends on what your personal needs are and how you learn. If you learn a language in a formal setting, learning others in a non-formal is much easier. I am looking to learn Python and more Javascript, JQuery, and AJAX maybe and these I can teach myself based on my formal education in C++, Java, and VB.
