Hi everybody, I have a facebook fanpage, I gain 6800+likes so far, and the same with following, they are almost the same number. I don't know why I collect those likes if people can't receive my new status. I think the following has no meaning. Only get notifications can make my facebook status reach to more people.

If someone wants to see what you post on your page, they have to hit the Get Notifications button that appears if you click near the Like one. In this way they can see every time you post something new.

So what's really the difference between likes and following. I may be missing something obvious, but I didn't get it from the two posts above.

If someone likes your page but isn't following you (didn't hit the "Follow" button), they won't see any updates in their News Feed at all! If they Liked your page and are Following you, they will see your posts in the News Feed. If they Liked and Followed your page and also clicked on the "Get Notifications" button, they will receive notifications (like when a friend comments or likes one of your pictures) whenever you post something new.

Does anyone have a method to make the people who like your page to also follow and get notifications? I have seen someone change their facebbok banner and an arrow pointing to the get notifications.
