Yes, in most of the cases, it's about taxes. Generally speaking, LLC account is interesting, it means limited liability, simpler said, if you get sued for whatever, they can’t take your personal stuff (you will pay with the LLC's funds).
Individual vs. Business account:
The only difference between is the Payee name. If it's your name (you're Youtube creator, etc), you want an individual account, if it's a Company name, then you want a business account. Source: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/32750
In some cases you may be able to request your AdSense account type be changed using a form linked here: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/10163 . I say "may" because the options are different for different accounts, depending on your location, account status and earnings. But I see that option.
I heard (I am not 100% sure it works in 2022), someone got his Adsense account closed, and he opened another one, under his LLC name (a brick&mortar business).
