What's the difference between Parasites and Web 2.0?

If I read it correctly, parasites are just web 2.0s with a fancy new name. Why do you have to invent new jargon for something we already had?

A Web 2.0 *can* be a parasite, but really the term is broader, and encompasses really any page you can make that would be on a high authority domain. For example, an Amazon product page isn't a Web 2.0, but it *is* a parasite.

The term parasite is given to a page that you create on a domain that has strong domain level metrics. Although the term parasite does include web 2.0s within it, it also covers a much broader spectrum such as forums, video sites, PR sites and a fair few others.
