Id like to hear your thoughts to Google Penguin -

What are the good/ bad things about Penguin in a ranking sense - i.e. is it "harder" now?

It's harder than ever to spam your way to the top (and stay there), but it's probably easier than ever to manipulate rankings if you take the time to do it right. I don't mean "white hat," by the way. I mean clever, veiled black hat :)
 
Bottom line is that Google don't care about the surfers or small guys. They just want money and care only about big corporates and brands.

This is the perfect time completely ignore all google rules and go 100% blackhat and start building other traffic sources since google no longer rewards regular webmasters with complete whitehat seo in the way they used to.
 
7 out of the top 20 websites for the keyword Viagra are hacked. Google's doing a fantastic job! :D
 
It's not exactly harder, but you just have to be more careful, re keeping your link profile varied, not over-optimize your anchor text keywords and similar stuff.

It's definitely annoying, but if you don't like something, there's always Bing or Yahoo lolz
 
It has been a weird update to be honest. I personally found the anchor text thing really weird and annoying. But spamming had to be stopped one or the other way. Some people abused it to extreme levels.

Basically its harder for people who wants to get bulk backlinks within a very short time. I think google penguin and Panda is trying to pull out quality website from web and rank them well.
 
bottom line with penguin, is watch where your backlinks are coming from because penguin is watching it too, and if it looks shady or suspicious then its a big flag.
