The backlinks you can successfully hide from those tools are ones from PBNs that you own and control and outgoing links from your site. You can't hide links from sites you don't own or control, unless you can convince the webmasters of each of those sites to block the crawlers of those tools.

I think, You can hide backlinks from those tools by blocking Ahrefs, Semrush tools boots using the code “ Disallow " but you will unable to track and analyse your website ranking.

Hiding backlinks from tools like Ahrefs or Semrush is challenging, as these tools rely on web crawlers. However, here are some methods often used:

  1. Use Redirects:
    • Cloak the backlink with a 301 or 302 redirect through an intermediary page that disallows crawling.
  2. Block Crawlers via Robots.txt:
    • Restrict crawling of specific pages using robots.txt, but note that some crawlers may ignore this file.
  3. Noindex Pages:
    • Add a noindex tag to the linking page to prevent it from appearing in search engines (also reduces visibility to SEO tools).
  4. JavaScript or Button Links:
    • Use JavaScript-based links or hide the link in a button to make it harder to detect by crawlers.
  5. Canonical Tags:
    • Point canonical tags to other URLs to confuse crawler data.
While these methods may reduce visibility, they might also lower the SEO value of the backlinks, so consider the trade-offs carefully.

Hiding backlinks from tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush is challenging, as these tools use bots to crawl and index publicly accessible links. However, you can use strategies to limit their visibility:

  1. Robots.txt: Block crawlers from indexing specific pages with a robots.txt directive. Note, this doesn't work for all crawlers, as some may ignore it.
  2. Noindex and Nofollow: Add meta tags to prevent search engines from indexing or passing link equity.
  3. Password-Protected Pages: Restrict access to backlink sources.
  4. Private Networks: Use unlisted or private PBNs.
  5. Disguise Links: Cloak links with redirects or JavaScript.
These methods reduce detection but aren’t foolproof.

Thanks for the replies, i will give it a go and see where it takes me, much appreciated =)

As mentioned above by @back2form you can try to put "Disallow" codes for those tools on your site.

Good quality PBNs usually hide their footprints so its hard to track, but not for guesposts or natural backlinks you get.

They mostly won't use Disallow code for those tools if you ask them to put it.

To conceal your backlinks from tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush, you could block crawlers with robots.txt, or add a nofollow attribute to the links. Another option is to use IP restrictions to control who can view your site. Just be cautious, as these methods may still trigger attention from search engines.

Just block bots from Ahrefs, SEMrush, and other SEO crawlers from your robots.txt file can prevent them from crawling and indexing your website.

If you want to hide your backlinks from tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush, you can use the nofollow tag on your links so crawlers don’t follow them. Another option is to block bots via robots.txt or edit your site’s HTTP header. You can also try temporary 301 redirects, but be careful, as overuse can impact your SEO.
