I have search big G and the forum and there are a lot of opinions out there so I am hoping that someone here has some experience with this

i am trying to get into file uploads (porn, anime, etc) but I don't have a lot of time.

i do have a LOT of files because me and my brother just love downloading stuffs from the net and i think it's time for our 8TB+ of files to make some money for us

if you're interested in a JV or any similar opportunities with these files, you can see my bro's collection on hxxt://pzykoh.com

PS. in 2 hours time, I will be away for a family vacation but I am hoping to get some ideas as I really am looking for some passive way to earn money after big G drop the hammer on my autoblogs

btw, thanks BH for that idea, i got i think $200+ passive income for something that took me 2 hours to setup and just left it afterwards :D

If it can't be saturated nor represent direct competition for you, you can share your passive income and maybe some people might tell you what to do with your STB+ files

i actually have a simple plan, reduce the file sizes and post these on forums (anime goes to anime forums, porn goes to porn forums, and so forth)

i am also interested in case people wants to do a JV with the files that I have

edit: as for my previous passive income, like i said it was from autoblogs which I also learned here but sadly, google killed that method

convert to mp4 h264 encoding maybe? i'm guessing here, but h264 is high quality

Sometimes when I want to convert something to a smaller file I use just windows movie maker, it's super simple and can make small files pretty quickly. I have premier and sony vegas, but for youtube windows movie maker usually does the trick.

Nero Can do most of what you want, but a converter like anyvideo converter will have more options for you.

i am actually looking for something to convert the usual 350mb avi to something from 150mb to 100mb as long as I can retain the quality.

My idea is even though there are a lot of uploaders, I am trying to make sure my uploads have a great quality so that people will keep downloading the contents that I plan to upload regularly, does that make sense? or should I just convert them to mkv?

PS. i am still not sure what's the best avi to mkv coverter

I like Camtasia studio, you can also add watermarks etc

Lower the resolution
Lower the framerate
Then convert to WMV
A simple free tool called SUPER Converter (erightsoft) might help

check out handbrake, its opensource, and supports batch processing.

When converting, using a better compressor helps minimize any loss of quality. During conversion make sure to use a mpeg4/h.264 compressor. Reducing the bitrate will reduce the size of the file. Finally, since you have a lot of files, make sure to use a converter that does files in batches like Digital Media Converter Pro. Here is a good article that explains how to reduce file sizes without much of a loss of quality -
