Please advise what tactics are better to choose to promote their own subreddit?

Created my own subreddits. More for the soul than for monetization.

There are 5 accounts with age 2 years and 50 accounts with age 2 months. Karma on both of them tends to zero.

As I understand it, one of the effective ways to promote your subreddits is crossposting.

Which method will bring the maximum number of users

1. I add 5 old accounts to moderators subreddit and use them to add content and crossposting on other people's subreddits
2. I use the 5 old accounts only to add content and try to crosspost with the new accounts.
3. Your option?

I would add 1 old acc and 2 new accs as mods.

Post content with the new accs and crosspost with older. There is no karma limits on your own sub so new accs work for it perfectly. When you crosspost however there might be age and karma limits on other subs so older accs with karma are better for that.

Depending of your niche - 10 komment karma is usually ok for most "normal" subs that aren't spammed to get traffic etc.

If you want to crosspost to some huge porn subs then 1k comment and 1k post karma does the trick.. Some bigger subs need 200 comment and post karma etc.. it's really just trying it out kind of deal.

Crossposting is a great way, especially with NSFW subs.

Crossposting means nothing if you're crossposting shit. People will subscribe to what they like, and in order for them to like what you offer, you have to offer real value. Put time into your subreddit. Invest in branding. A cool logo, cool banner. Make sure your posts are top notch and offer exactly what users ask for in other similar subs. There's really no science to growing a subreddit. You just have to avoid being a complete hack that has nothing to offer and simply spams garbage. People spam garbage because it appears to be easier than creating quality content. It actually isn't. A few good posts will get you more subscribers than countless shitty posts being spammed all over reddit.

Well, I can see you already got some good advices that refers to the crossposting, I will add to be "Organizated" and make an Excel with good subreddits for crossposting, find subs that allows cross and they have good interaction, for example, before choosing a subreddit a like to make sure that they have at least three post with more than 1 k upvotes within the filter "Top/Today", I hope this helps you, good luck!

Depends if you want to build a sfw or nsfw sub. Nsfw subs are pretty straight forward... post quality content on large subs. I've seen nsfw subs that got over 50k members in less than a week. I made my own and got 20k members in about a month of barely trying. If you have a sub, always remember to perform a mod action like approve or remove post or ban someone at least once a month, otherwise your sub will be deleted for 'being unmoderated'.

If you want to build a sfw sub, you should check out what the top posts are on a large sub in the same niche. You can repost that content, which yields various results, usually not as good as the original post. A better option is to write a similar post. Like if you want to make a technology sub and you see that posts about data leaks do well, then write about a recent data leak. Once the post goes viral, edit the post and put your links or product name in there. This is also a good way to farm karma. You can get 15k post karma and 5k comment karma within a day or two, which is enough to post in pretty much any sub.

Also, I don't understand why you would ever need more than one Reddit account. Like really, I want someone to explain to me why. Sure, you can spam but what's the point? Reddit filters are good and you will get banned and have your posts deleted eventually. You can get so much more exposure by actually using your brain instead. I made multiple accounts only because other bhw members suggested it and I'm pretty sure the fact that I used multiple accounts marked me as a bot across all accounts, which isn't really a big deal but it does prevent you from posting in subs with very strict filter.

If you're trying to grow an NSFW subreddit then just go to redgifs take content from your targeted niche and crosspost into subreddits with the same niche, quite easy & fairly quick growth if your subreddit is niche targeted

The best tactic that I can think of is to basically FIND SUBREDDITS THAT SIMILAR SUBREDDITS AS YOURS ARE CROSS-POSTING TO.

Take a look at how bigger subreddits react to those smaller subreddit's post.

If they are constantly getting flagged or removed, then it's probably not a good idea to crosspost to that larger subreddit.

Just pay attention to what your competitors are doing and copy them.

Eventually, you'll be able to come up with a distribution list that is relatively safe.

Of course the best way to promote is to OFFER ONLY THE VERY BEST NICHE-SPECIFIC CONTENT ON your subreddit.

This is the way. I’d add the easiest way to find subs that allow you to cross post with minimal Karma is to copy bots you run into’s post histories. Then from there you can build up enough karma to post anywhere . DON’T post in the free karma subreddits, many big subreddits ban users who have posted there.
