I want to get more into graphic design and was wondering what the best program out there is? I'm assuming photo shop? Also, don't worry about the cost, just what could boost my entrance into this new hobby?

Yes . . . Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are the Industry
Standards used by professional graphic artists. Learn them both
and you will be in business.

I use Photoshop and illustrator mostly for graphics.
For Logos you can also work with sothink or aalogo maker so else the adobe photoshop and illustrator will do the job.

Photoshop for web images and graphics. Illustrator will serve you well for logo design. Paint will be perfect for wasting a couple of minutes if you're ever bored!

I use Photoshop and Illustrator which are pretty much considered the industry standard. I definitely spend more time in Illustrator than I do Photoshop though.

Also Cinema 4D is my favourite for creating 3D models and text.

as everyone told you, photoshop (PS) and illustrator (AI) are main two's, for 2D graphics.. beside also AI is for vector creation, but also new PS have some of vector shape's to work/create.. but not so complex as AI. for 3D design, there is bunch of software, but to become a master of PS or a master of let's ay 3DS MAX, it's rather a big difference (in years of experience and usage).

every single graphic designer either uses or knows how to use adobe.
With photoshop and illustrator you can do anything.
rarely do you work in 3d.. but you can work in 3d with adobe.

if you want to get into print.. like making brochures or books then you use adobe indesign.

once you know how to use photosshop and illustrator, you can use any program..

    learn photoshop first. (for photos)

    then illustator. (vector graphics.."logo design")
