For someone just starting with FB ads, what’s a good daily budget to test campaigns without wasting too much money? I want to learn testing properly but not sure how much is enough for real data.

Here's what I did.

Start off with $10 per day.

Then very gradually (once per week) increase this by $5 per day.
The reason for this is because of the learning phase and to help slowly increase the speed / data (the algorithm struggles to learn if you continue to stick with just $10 per day)

Also, setup a rule where once it reaches a certain CPC (based on your niche) automatically increase the daily budget by 1% and set a daily maximum cap. Set the rule so that it checks the CPC every night and if its within the threshold you set, to increase by 1%

Example - mine is set to check CPC every night and if less than $1 AUD then increase the daily budget by 1%.

We do this because FB doesn't always like it when you manually increase the budget.

Hope this helps.

I’d say start small, something like $10 or $20 a day is enough to test without burning too much cash.

There is no exact number. But you should split your budget into multiple campaigns, each with different content and media. Keep increasing the budget for campaigns that perform well, while turning off those that don’t deliver results.

For beginners, $5–10 per ad set per day is usually enough to start testing without overspending. Once you see which creatives and audiences work, you can scale gradually.

The only problem with a budget of $5-$10 per day is that the learning phase takes a very long time.

Because the budget is so small the data is very small to gather and "learn" from.

It does still work however, you have to be patient because it will take a long time.
