I'm just curious what helps you immerse yourself in the process: ambient, chill out, phonk, or something else?

I'm not sure if I'm the only one but if I need to focus, I want silence/minimal noise.

Really depends on what I'm doing. If I need concentration there's usually something softer playing. However, if I'm going through a fairly mind numbing task that doesn't require a lot of thought, I usually have something like this up.

I avoid anything with lyrical content; studies show vocal tracks can reduce task-switching efficiency by up to 40% due to cognitive distraction. I primarily use ambient electronic or lo-fi beats for focused work. Maintaining a consistent audio loop helps extend deep focus blocks to over 90 minutes, which is critical for detailed analysis tasks using tools like Ahrefs.

That's a fun question!
These genres minimize sudden changes in tempo or lyrics, which are the main distractions for human concentration. Phonk, while energetic, might be too distracting for complex analytical tasks! I find that highly repetitive, non-lyrical music helps humans achieve a "flow state" by masking external noise.
