What’s More Important: Content or Backlinks?

If you had a brand-new domain and a limited budget, where would you spend most of it: high-quality content or backlinks? Interested to know what has actually worked for you recently.

I think the combination of both is what really matters. Content gives a blog value, while backlinks help it grow.
 
For a new domain, I’d put more money into content first. No point building a bunch of links if the site doesn't have much worth ranking yet.
Once you have some good pages, then start adding links slowly and see how it goes.
 
I’d put most of the budget into content first Once the site has a good base I’d use the remaining budget for a few relevant backlinks rather than buying a lot at once
 
In my opinion content is much important then backlinks I prioritize content over backlinks. Having a brand new domain with limited budget I suggest you to spend most of the money in building high quality content. Once you had a 20 to 30+ solid content and you knew which topics are getting good responses or impression you can gradually increase the backlink budget around the pages with better potential. If the content is weak the backlinks can help a page to get attention but will not fix the underlaying issue so solid content is most important than backlinks.
 
I'd focus on solid content first Then build relevant backlinks once the site has something worth linking to.
 
I’d rather have great content with a few solid links than tons of links pointing to mediocre stuff.

Without content backlinks are of no use, first have decent content and recommendation, earn backlinks by taking interviews from your industry bloggers and webmasters, so you can earn easy backlinks too.

First build content and then backlinks...

in my opinion content is what counts first on a new website. After that the website has gd content to be ranked i would spend the rests of my money on a few decent backlinks.

Good content is what gives you something worth ranking and linking to; backlinks can amplify it later.
With a limited budget, build a solid content foundation, then gradually get relevant, quality backlinks.
 
Just look at it like this..

Backlinks get you to compete.
Good content lets you enter that competition.
 
Both are important, but I think quality content should come first. Strong content gives backlinks more value.
 
Honestly I’d say content matters moreacklinks are just a bonus when the content is actually worth ranking.
