what's going with USDT?

I dont think it will get delisted...

For those do not know the reason...
The EU has mandated that exchanges must delist USDT by December 30, 2024, unless Tether complies with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations. These regulations require stablecoins to meet stringent transparency and auditing standards

is usdt going to be unlisted or is it gonna devalue? what's going on, if I had USDT should I swap it
The USDT story goes way back, tied to Trump signing that 2016 law that basically let people dodge taxes as long as their money stayed in crypto. Everyone started parking their profits in USDT – same as dollars, but technically crypto. Plus, exchanges popped up that ran purely on USDT, no fiat needed.

Now Trump's back in the picture, and the US is about to drop some stablecoin regulations. USDT might even get the green light. If you're sweating your USDT, move it to a wallet where you can instantly swap it for other cryptos or cash out fast. Something like Cryptomus, where you can even stake it – even better. They're a crypto payment processor for big companies, so they're on top of things and will handle any USDT drama.

Another option: swap your USDT for another stablecoin you trust, like PYUSD from PayPal. I'm betting PayPal will make sure it's always redeemable for fiat.

Only in European exchanges, USDT still is (and probably will stay) the biggest stablecoin out there. Also the regulations have little to no effect on DeFi, only CEXs.

what's that

Given its substantial market share, ongoing compliance efforts, and strong financial backing, USDT is positioned to remain a key player in the stablecoin arena. While market dynamics can change rapidly, the current indicators suggest that USDT is unlikely to be delisted or significantly devalued in the near future. If you hold USDT, it may be prudent to maintain your position while monitoring market developments closely.

yeah but if the market says they aren't being backed by their reserves it might cause a collapse
Ah, I understood now. But how will be this collapse? You know? How you think will be? USDT price will down like USD?

USDT is unlikely to be delisted or devalued unless there is a significant issue with Tether's reserves. Keep an eye on credible news sources for updates. If you have concerns, diversifying into other stablecoins like USDC or DAI may help reduce risk
