What's going to push bitcoin to 200k?

it is very possible, your comment is interesting, but i think it will only go up to 150k

Nothing will push bitcoin to $200k, it's only a matter of time until all the air is let out of the bubble. Buying right now is a terrible idea.

When USA officially annonces that theyre going to buy BTC to hold as a federal reserve.

They will need to do a good job on their legislation to do that.

Any major announcement by a leading political leader of an important economy can do this.

I think I know a driver that could send bitcoin to 200k in early 2025. And that driver is China. When they banned mining, the hash rate dropped by half. That could speak volumes. They currently have cryptocurrency under a complete ban. But if the U.S. does start creating a bitcoin reserve, China won't be able to stay away. This could result in a technology race. Which will propel bitcoin into a new orbit.
What do you think?
I don't think BTC will hit 200k this cycle. I am looking at macro elements, the SPX500 did ATH after ATH, they start cutting rates, but at one point the economy will colapse beacause unemployment is high, inflation as well. They are keeping the numbers from the pen now, but with all that spending for wars, it will blow at one point and the crisis will hit. Maybe next year 3-4th quarter.

I see BTC at 125-145k and altseason for 4-8 weeks MAYBE if no less than that.

Waging war has always been a method of getting out of a crisis when other tools no longer work. Because military production provides additional jobs. But one thing is certain, and I agree with you completely: they keep everything they plan to do secret.

If China jumps in, it's not gonna be for the tech race; it'll be to weaponize Bitcoin's volatility. They love playing long-term chess with global markets, and BTC is just another pawn.

I don't buy the 'China will adopt BTC' narrative. Their entire monetary policy is about control. Why would they back something decentralized and chaotic?

The problems Trump will have with Canada after she comes to power may be effective.

Yesterday recognized Trump's election as legitimate. Bitcoin reacted by moving upwards. The inauguration will provide its own impetus for further upward movement. It will probably be 150k.

Syria's new government is being asked to legalize bitcoin and issue a central bank digital currency to help the economy recover faster. The more countries that consider the issue, the higher the price of the asset could be.

It might sound a bit stupid, but going from $10K to $20K was relatively easy. A $10K Bitcoin meant a $10 billion market cap, while $20K Bitcoin was $20 billion—doubling the price only required an extra $10 billion.

Now, going from $100K Bitcoin (a $2 trillion market cap) to $200K Bitcoin (a $4 trillion market cap) feels like a completely different challenge. Doubling the market cap at that scale seems almost otherworldly.

The US holds 65% more first cryptocurrency than all similar foreign holders combined. If anyone is driving the market, it's them.
