Does it really matter if you use a .com or any of the others? Would a .info be ok for blogging?

This always comes up. .com is the preferred usually followed by .net and .org. Most people stay away from .info because it's usually associated with spam. Although I haven't seen any legitimate information on how it effects SERPs. It really comes down to the quality of the site and the backlinks.

It should not really matter. you can find some info domains in the first place for keywords. That tells me it really does not matter what your domain ends in.

.com of course is the best. If you find or can afford to get a 100% keyword based .com domain, then that's your big step forward to dominate your niche.. .

For ranking? No, it does not matter. Tons of guys have been outranking
those preferred TLDs for years with their infos.

For CTR? For that, you have to delve into the minds of the searcher.

Do they have a preference while looking at the URLs in the serps?

I do. Most of YOU probably do, but I doubt that the average searcher
even notices the domain name or TLD.

For ranking - .org, .com, .net, .info

For selling - .com, .org, .net, .info

But at the end of the day if the content is good and you throw enough backlinks at it then you can rank anything.

But if all things are same i.e. content, links, onpage SEO, etc. then for search .org is the best... but if you plan to sell the site then always go for a .com, it will be easier to sell and also earn more.
