Hi, what is best ecommerce solution.

been looking at oscommerce, open cart, wordpress

Cheers

I personally have used OpenCart, it does the trick.

Magento is the top ecommerce solution atm, but not easy to customize and pretty heavy server-wise. I don't really know about the other carts, but all stats are showing that Magento is the now most used and most of the sellers convert it.

Drupal with the Commerce module is good (it has plenty of additional modules to expand functionality). It might have a bit of a steeper learning curve, but pays off in flexibility and power offered by Drupal. There is a big Vimeo channel with videos available, too.

If you want to know more:

http://www.drupalcommerce.org/ (website for the module, lots of useful information)
http://drupal.org/project/commerce (the actual module)
http://drupal.org/project/commerce_kickstart (it's an installation profile for Drupal, to make it easier to get it set up)
http://vimeo.com/channels/commerceguys (the Vimeo channel)

Just out of curiosity why don't you just create an Amazon store with your products? There fees kind of suck but you have built in authority.

Hi, just my products are not really really fast selling products but there is some profit to be made, amazon & ebay not really looking to do, after doing sums not really worth it, if I could do volume, then would be worth while but considering they sell but not in volumes worth ebay or amazon time.

Would like the best ecommerce solution that even if requires learning new things :)

Just wondering, I assume that you have used more that OC? However, if your opinion what would you say was best?

Cheers

I have used Open Cart once. I really like it and it is very simple to use. If you have many items to sell then this is a great script for you to use.

I see that alot of open cart addons are payed though.

That is one thing putting me off..

Because oscommerce has similar addons & they are free.

Wordpress eshop seems to be ok but not flexible enought.

I have to admit a few years ago I used oscommerce but got to admit I gave up on it in the end & that was the last of my online ecommerce adventures but one major problem with oscommerce is the plugins took ages to install.. However would be willing to do if it as an effective shopping cart that will help bring customers & convert.

cheers

The ultimate one is magento ecommerce but since it is now own by ebay anything can happen in the future ( you all heard of paypal stories)

I feel like nearly chose my cart, so excited (i know sad lol)

anyways, consistently magneto & open cart keep cropping up.

Any more I should be considering, I hope these convert.

Can anyone confirm with magneto, is it free? & do you have to pay for plugins?

Cheers

Magneto is the best. It has an open source platform, Low cost, user friendly and SEO friendly.
