Publishing the post is only the first step in getting your content in front of your target audience.
Until Google finds your post and indexes it in their database, no one can find your post.

Log into Google Webmaster Tools
Click the Add A Property button
Put the URL for your site's home page in the URL field and click the Continue button
Click the Crawl link in the left sidebar
Click the Sitemaps option under the Crawl section
Click the Add/Test Sitemap button to the right of the dashboard
Put ‘sitemap.xml' in the sitemap field and click the Submit button

You only have to do the above one time
