So I read that google analytics shouldn't be placed on the site if black hat method is used for the site.

What are other analytics services you guys reccomend that are free?

I use both analytics and statcounter. analytics provides better data but statcounter is real time.

i have tried several free but most of them lack realtime and accuracy. the best solution i have found is awstats

you can use http://hitstatcounter.com/ it uses piwik and you dont need a server, i use it and its great

is the best hands down. track in real time, but its only free for x amount of traffic then if you pass you have to upgrade but the best around for samll sites.. i like it better then googel. that i upgraded,.
